One of the island’s most dramatic glens with steep wooded trails, lush vegetation, and the island's highest waterfall. Access via footpath from main road.
Known as one of the island's steepest and most rugged glens, the Dhoon is not for the faint-hearted – but the effort is rewarded with spectacular scenery. The path descends sharply via 190+ steps into a deep, wooded ravine, passing the spectacular Inneen Vooar (Big Girl) waterfall, the highest on the island.
The glen feels wild and isolated, with ancient trees and lush vegetation thriving in the sheltered microclimate. While the bottom path to the beach is currently restricted due to erosion, the walk through the glen itself remains a top-tier hiking experience for those with good mobility.
