Trailhead: Directly opposite the Quarterbridge Hotel, Douglas | Directions
Description

Distance: 10-20 Miles
Grade: Easy/ Leisurely
Type: Foothpath, Cycling and Mountain Biking

Running for 10.5 miles between Douglas and Peel, this popular leisure route follows the trackbed of the old steam railway line that closed in 1968. Because it was built for trains, the gradient is incredibly gentle, making it the most accessible long-distance trail on the island for cyclists, families with prams, and wheelchair users.

The trail cuts a green corridor through the central valley, passing the ruins of St Trinian’s Church and the village of St John’s before finishing at the House of Manannan in Peel.

It is a safe, traffic-free way to cross the width of the island.
