Ballaugh Curraghs

A designated wetland of international importance (Ramsar site), the Curraghs offers a completely different landscape to the island's glens.This dense willow carr and bogland is explored via a network of raised wooden boardwalks, keeping your feet dry while you wander through the habitat.

It is famous for its colony of wild wallabies, descendants of escapees from the nearby wildlife park, which are frequently spotted at dawn and dusk. It is also a birdwatcher's paradise, home to Hen Harriers and diverse wetland species.
