Archallagan Forest

A vast working forest in the centre of the island, Archallagan is the go-to spot for mountain bikers, dog walkers, and families.

Unlike the steep mountain plantations, the terrain here is relatively gentle. The forest features a network of color-coded waymarked trails, ensuring you won't get lost, and two large ponds that attract dragonflies and birdlife. It also has a designated "skills area" for cyclists and plenty of picnic spots. It is a great "all-weather" destination as the tree canopy provides shelter from the rain.
