Central Promenade, Douglas, Isle of Man | Directions
Description

The island's main urban beach runs the entire 2-mile length of the Douglas promenade.

It is a mix of sand and shingle, with the central section (near the Villa Marina) offering the softest sand for castle building. As it is right in the town centre, you have immediate access to shops, hotels, and the Horse Tramway. It is a popular spot for lunch-break walks, sea swimming groups, and watching the ferries dock.

The Central section (opposite the Villa Marina and Broadway) is the most popular spot for swimming and features a seasonal lifeguard service.

Dog Walkers:
Please note that dogs are restricted on the central section during summer months (May–Sept) but are permitted on the northern (Summerhill) and southern (Terminal) ends year-round.

Amentities:

  • Roadside Parking
  • Paid / Disc Parking
