Castletown Road (A5), Santon, Isle of Man | Directions
Description

A small white bridge on the main road from the airport to Douglas, famous for a superstition that is taken very seriously by locals and visitors alike. It is bad luck to cross the bridge without saying "Laa Mie" (Good Day) to the Mooinjer Veggey (Little People) who are said to live in the river below. Bikers and drivers wave as they pass; failing to do so is said to invite mechanical failure or misfortune.
