Located on the eastern coast between Douglas and Laxey, Lonan is a coastal parish with a blend of hillside farmland, wooded valleys, and shoreline access. It includes the bay at Garwick and the scenic Dhoon Glen, one of the island’s most dramatic wooded valleys with waterfalls and steep trails.

 

While much of the parish is rural and residential, it’s prized for its walking routes and links to the Manx Electric Railway. Lonan is also home to the ancient Lonan Old Church and several viewpoints along the coastal road. The terrain is varied , from grazing fields to cliff walks, offering both tranquility and natural spectacle.
