Description

Type: Parish
Population: Approx. 1,070 (2021 Census)
Settlements: Glen Maye, Dalby, Patrick Road area

German Parish wraps around the town of Peel and includes inland countryside, coastal headlands, and parts of the TT course. While Peel itself is a separate town entity, the surrounding parish includes key rural and scenic areas such as Glen Maye and parts of Knockaloe.

The parish church (St German’s) is within Peel, while the wider parish lands are known for walking trails, farmland, and historical sites. Glen Maye, in particular, is a beautiful glen with a waterfall, coastal exit, and popular nature trails. The area also holds remnants of the island’s wartime internment history.

German is both a working rural parish and a scenic extension of Peel’s cultural and natural offerings.
