Turn up for Turnips 2026

Discover a traditional part of Manx Halloween at Turn up for Turnips 2026, a family-friendly event at Cregneash Folk Village. Visitors can create their own lantern from a turnip, locally known as a moot, with staff available to assist with preparation, carving techniques and safe tool handling.

The activities extend beyond lantern making, with seasonal crafts and colouring available in the marquee. Children and adults are welcome to attend in fancy dress, adding to the Hop tu Naa atmosphere within the historic village setting.

Turnips cost £3 each, with complimentary drilling available daily between 10am and 3pm. Families can attend without booking, although activities are subject to supplies and there may be short queues during busier periods. As the event takes place outdoors on uneven ground, suitable footwear is recommended and children must remain under adult supervision.
